Post script - if i thought I had chapped ass on 12/2, you should have seen me on 12/19 before I left town - I was so sick of movies I couldn't bear to watch another one! ME! inconceivable.
it'll pass. Chicago has opened and that is the best movie in the world.

Why so choppy? My post-button disappears when I write more than the number of lines below. Grr.
Anyway so I was so busy at work writing reviews on my breaks and at home writing them at home and watching movies and preparing for Xmas and all that that I just didn't have time for you people. I have real friends you know, really!
I know, because Rich threw me & Rob a party when we went home for Xmas and it was truly lovely! I can only hope Rich had as much fun as I did. Rob said he didn't and was actually totally miserable; I haven't yet read his blog to find out. But I saw everyone and there was so much love in the room! it was wonderful, good talking and fun time, got to meet Shelly's new (not that new, but new to me) boyfriend and hopefully my friend will become another friend's future boyfriend....Anyway I had a ball and I didn't miss typing alone in the dark at all. Gotta go! Still have OFCS voting to do! Happy New Year.

it is relieving to know that I am not so self involved as to be always on here, masturbating verbally for my tiny audience. ironically, a total stranger stumbled across this very blog, and solicited me for purchasing my screeners. Oh didn't I mention my screeners? by the way, it is illegal and immoral for me to sell them to anyone.
Anyway, last I wrote on 12/2, I used the gerund "inundated" to describe my spate of screeners. "Probably a couple more" turned into THREE TIMES the number I had logged above. Some duplicates (which made for some lovely stocking stuffers and will make great gag gifts come Socar party time) but mostly movies movies and more movies. One day before my nominations were due (coincidentally, today, which is why you are hearing from me again) I received three more titles. Did I have time to see them all? hell no! how about inclination? some...I will eventually watch Max and The Pianist, real women have curves, frailty, intacto, and Nicholas Nickleby. More next box;ass browser.

Well great! My cable modem is out at home again, and my friend/reader Rich outs me on his page so now I need to up the blogging. Crap.
I have been inundated with the one perk of my movie-reviewing life, which is the "for your consideration" slushpile of screener tapes. Can I tell you how great this is? Except I have chapped ass trying to watch and write about all these films before our ridiculous holiday deadlines.
I received the following titles on DVD and/or VHS, fortunately some of which I saw in the theatre and don't need to make time for at home:
Igby Goes Down, Late Marriage, 24 Hour Party People, The Good Girl, Dahmer, One Hour Photo, The Banger Sisters, The Rookie, Barbershop, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Max, Lovely & Amazing, All for Nothing, Read My Lips, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, Amandla!, and probably a couple more. Of course as the holiday season ramps up, there are still theatrical screeners so I would see, say tonight, Analyze That, and then settle down for one of the above titles, assuming more don't show up that I want to watch more. My eyes! My ass!
Not that I am complaining, mind you. Not per se.
I am job hunting and don't want to jinx myself by reporting that as news on this site read by no one.
My step brother (chillingly named Rob, as is my boyfriend for those who don't know) emailed me at work (on Friday morning, when we're off for Thanksgiving) to tell me he was stopping by Friday night, which he did when I was naturally out, and left his card. www.robnugen.com is all I can say about that. I got the email this morning, and of course the card when I got home. He "stopped by" San Diego, he lives in Houston. Yeesh! My dad was kind enough to forward the blog. Oy! This is why I don't go home at Thanksgiving.
I'm not all that funny today but you should see what is swirling on my retinas. Cool.
PS my nose is still scabby on the inside from Shane's wedding in Phoenix.
For the record, Rikkicitos, IH-35 is a highway - Interstate Highway 35 is its official designator. I don't know what bizarro rules California claims to have made up regarding its own internal system of over-55 thoroughfares, but I go by what is listed on the sign. RR 2222.
